On the Street Where I Live
A Trip Around the Block 60 Days Post Ian

This is the house at the corner of Lauder and Lanark.
This is most of the remaining house. Some of the roof landed in a neighbor’s pool.
Walking down Lauder Street, some homes were completely gone as the clean-up begins.
Flags give a sense of pride.
and signs…
Destroyed cars are now part of the landscape.
Almost every home on this street was badly damaged.
Lauder runs into Seminole where the Women’s Club, an historic structure built in the 40s, was damaged.
Piles of trash still remain although quite a bit has been picked up.
Mid-Island Laundry at the corner of Estero and Seminole
A house once stood on these pilings.
Seeing RVs on empty lots is a common site as people begin to rebuild.
This was once a million-dollar Gulf front home.
This is one of the few homes still standing on Estero between Lanark and Seminole.
Stairway to….
Many lots along Estero have been cleared.
My walk ended where it began and I met up with Frank, who owns the house in the background. Thankfully, Frank has a good attitude and plans to rebuild.
